LAKAR
The awakening of vineyards planted in 1920
One could say that Lakar is our cherished wine. Not only do we harvest the grapes manually from centenary vineyards, but also consider biodynamic agriculture and treat the grapes with minimal intervention.
Additionally, the grape is left to rest for more than 12 months in first-use Austrian oak barrels resulting in a wine of extreme complexity, capable of reflecting the nuances of a bold vineyard.
Only 1810 bottles of the forgotten essence of Navarra
LAKAR
Le Naturel Lakar wine is a limited-edition wine, with only 1810 bottles, harvested in a small 0.8 hectares vineyard located in Lakar, in the Yerri Valley. Its Navarrese origin shows a density and structure brought by the extreme conditions of its crop and the vineyard´s age.
Varietal: Mostly Garnacha and some loose vines (less than 5%) of other red and white varieties.
Vineyards: Almost 1 hectare planted in 1920 at an altitude of 440 meters above sea level on a chalky clay soil with good depth and up to 30% slope. The vineyards are organically farmed and are not treated with synthetic chemical products. They coexist with olive trees, fig-trees, and other fruit trees.
Harvest: The grapes are organically grown, respecting the rhythms of nature, and harvested by hand on 25 September.
Visual: A lively and intense red cherry shade. Surprising for its intensity, unusual for the Garnacha variety, which usually has a lighter color palette.
Nose: An initial red fruit explosion evolves into riper notes of black fruit. At the same time as its extreme complexity reflects nuances that show the essence of a magical enclave.
Palate: Reflects a great density and structure coming from the extreme conditions of its crop and the vineyard´s age. Similarly, it presents an elegant and balanced acidity that allows a high aging capacity.
