EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
Centennial olive trees and artisanal production
An organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil made with Arróniz olives, from our centenary olive trees, some of which are over 200 years old and coexisting with the Garnacha vineyards in the surroundings of our winery.
The Atlantic and Mediterranean climates’ influence gives rise to a slower maturation of the olive, which gives it a special uniqueness, and where notes of cut grass and tomato stand out.
ORGANIC OIL
AOVE
Our oil is obtained by mechanical cold extraction (always below 27ºC), without additives of any kind and in a single press. The result is a very complex oil. It stands out for its great balance thanks to its moderate bitterness and spiciness.
In addition, the extraction residues are used for composting, contributing to our commitment to self-sufficiency and zero waste.
Type of olive: Arróniz.
Quality: Extra Virgin.
Cultivation: Centenary olive trees located in the old vineyard plots of Aroa Bodegas. They are located in three localities in the Yerri Valley: Zurukoain, with olive trees up to 200 years old, and Lacar and Mañeru, where they were planted around a century ago. Organic mixed cultivation with vineyards.
Nose: Green-ripened fruity oil, very complex. Notes of cut grass, hints of artichoke, ripe almond, stems and bark. In the background we can find mature banana and dried nuts scents.
Mouth: Its great balance stands out thanks to a moderate bitterness and spiciness.
